Emily and I are really keen to make sure that At the Gates: Disability, Justice and the Churches is accessible to every disabled Christian who wants to read it. We were delighted when Torch Trust offered to convert the book into large print and Braille versions. But that still leaves audio – the primary way that many blind, dyslexic and other disabled readers access books.
We’d love to record an audiobook ourselves, but we don’t have the capacity (particularly the energy) at the moment. And we want this audiobook to be a high-quality audio experience for listeners. That means we need to raise funds to pay a voice artists, producer and editor.
We’re excited and grateful that the GoFundMe has raised £755 already – more than a third of the way to our goal. But we have a way to go before we have the funds we need record the audiobook.
Can you help us fund an audiobook? Or can you share the fundraiser (this might be even more important than giving)? The link is https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-create-an-audiobook-of-at-the-gates . All royalties from the audiobook will go to Torch Trust, to thank them for their help with getting this book into accessible formats.
We’re also looking for voice artists to record the book. If you know someone who might be interested, please let us know, here or on social media.
Thank you so much for any help you can offer. We so appreciate all the support you’ve given us with this book. Please keep spreading the word!
